Minifarms takes a stance against Bovaer

Bovaer is a new additive being introduced to cow feed in Australia.
While it helps reduce methane emissions, contributing to a significantly reduced environmental footprint, it hasn’t been proven to be safe for human consumption.
Minifarms contacted every supplier to confirm their stance on Bovaer. We can proudly and confidently say that all our meat, cheese and milk suppliers are against the use of Bovaer.
David’s Larder, Hunterbelle Dairy, Springhill Farm, Pauls Dairy, and Little Big Dairy Co have publicly reassured all their customers that their cows are not fed Bovaer.
“We prioritise the health and happiness of our herd, which naturally results in lower methane levels without additives,” Hunterbelle Dairy said in a statement.
“With our farm just 10km from our factory, we’re proud to offer low-mile, local milk that’s unhomogenised, old-fashioned, and full of quality. We care deeply about what goes into our cows’ tummies – and that’s a decision we make with their health in mind.”
Pauls Dairy said, “Bovaer is not used by any farmers who supply milk to Paul’s. Additionally, none of the cattle that we source milk from are vaccinated with an mRNA vaccination.”
Our primary meat supplier, David’s Larder, has also issued a statement addressing Bovaer.
“We want to acknowledge the concern around the Bovaer feed additive and confirm that this is not used in any of the livestock in our supply chain.
“We source from all free range and organic farms, and have very close relationships with our farmers. Our meat is grass fed and hormone/vaccination free.”
Springhill Farm have also reinforced their commitment to producing clean, antibiotic/hormone/vaccine-free, grass fed and finished beef that is 100% Bovaer-free.
Likewise, Little Big Dairy Co categorically states that Bovaer is not used in any of its milking cows or heifer, bull or steer diets.
“We are not feeding Bovaer at The Little Big Dairy Company! We love being a company you can call and who you can trust,” they said in a statement.
